The Best Places To Visit This Autumn

Munich, Germany- Munich is one of the most visited cities in Germany, especially in the autumn. It is the best place around to participate in the world-renowned autumn event, Oktoberfest. Even if you are not a beer drinker, it’s a cultural celebration with festivities, fun outfits, and delicious food. It was first held in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince of Prussia, Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. The event is held from mid-September to early October.   

Provence, France- Provence is an amazing place to explore in France in autumn. It can be relaxing and reenergising to picnic in the countryside of Provence with its vibrant landscape. The expansive vineyards in Provence are known for creating some of the world’s best wines that you can enjoy locally or bring home as gift.

Vienna, Austria- although Vienna is a popular summer destination, it’s still a great to visit in autumn, especially as the heat is giving way to more comfortable weather. For a remarkable display of nature, you should stroll around the Botanical Gardens, Schonbrunn and Stadtpark. For some added culture, the Vienna Art Work and Viennale international film festival are popular autumn events in Vienna.

Alcala de Henares, Spain- Alcala de Henares is a festive Spanish city in autumn, starting with the week-long event to celebrate Cervantes, the writer of Don Quixote and other popular literary works. People dress up to re-enact events in his famed stories, while enjoying music, drinks, and local foods.

Amsterdam, Netherlands- autumn is a lovely season to stroll through colourful tulip gardens in the Netherlands. You can cosy up in any of the various cafes for a hot cup of coffee and cakes or go to the Rijksmuseum to see popular paintings.
